Keep your finish looking sharp with simple, proven routines. This is the guidance we give customers after correction, ceramic coating or PPF installs.
Maintenance wash (safe)
- Rinse first to remove loose grit.
- Pre-wash (snow foam) — let dwell, don’t let it dry.
- Two-bucket wash with soft mitt; work top to bottom.
- Separate tools for wheels/arches.
Frequency: Weekly/fortnightly depending on mileage and weather.
Drying safely
- Sheet water off with a hose; then pat dry with plush towels.
- Use a drying aid or quick detailer for slickness.
- Leaf blower / pet dryer helps avoid touching high-risk areas.
Avoid: Beach towels, old T-shirts, chamois — they mar the finish.
Decontamination schedule
- Iron remover: every 2–3 months or as needed.
- Tar remover: when you see specks on sills/rear quarters.
- Clay: only when necessary — always re-protect afterwards.
On coated cars, decon helps restore beading when the surface becomes clogged.
Ceramic coating & PPF care
Ceramic coatings
- First 7 days: avoid harsh washes or chemicals.
- Use pH-neutral shampoos; avoid strong APCs.
- Top up with silica-based spray every few months if desired.
PPF
- Hand wash with soft mitts; avoid aggressive solvents.
- Bug splatter & bird droppings: soften with warm, soapy water before wiping.
- Light swirls may self-heal with warmth/sun.
Winter tips
- Rinse more often to remove salt.
- Use pre-wash liberally; keep mitts/towels clean.
- Consider a decon mid-winter to keep coatings lively.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
Our packages range 1–5+ years. Real-world life depends on wash method, mileage and storage. We include a single-stage machine polish in every coating package for proper bonding.
Do I still need to wash a coated car?
Yes — coatings don’t stop dirt landing; they make it easier and safer to remove. Follow the routine above for swirl-free results.
Will PPF yellow?
Modern quality films are highly resistant. Keep them clean, avoid harsh chemicals, and they’ll stay clear for years.
